The Academy of International Dance Arts Spring Performance

The Academy's recent performance was a wonderful success with beautiful ballet choreographies, diverse international
compositions and several wonderful guests including    Arassay Reyes of 'So You Think You Can Dance Canada' Season One... Congratulations to all involved!

Free Try-Out Classes for the Fall 2010 Term

You're invited to have your child to come to a free mini try out class* on Wednesday, August 25th or Saturday August 28th.  After the class there will be cake and lemonade for participating students and parents will be given further information about fall classes. **Please note, these are sample classes to give students a "taste" of AIDA classes and do not necessarily correlate with fall scheduling, exact levels or class duration which may be longer in length. These try-out classes will be used as a guide to place students interested in the summer mini-term and/or fall term. 

Classes will be scheduled as follows:

Saturday, August 28th

10:30 am - 11:15 pm    ages 5 + 6 yrs
11:30 am - 12:15 pm    ages 7 + 8 yrs
12:30 am -  1: 30 pm    ages 9 - 11 yrs
  2:00 pm -  3:00  pm    age 12 yrs and up

 Advanced Level students may do one Master Class during the Mini-Summer session - see below

Wedneday, August 25th

5:00 - 5:45 pm  ages 7 + 8 yrs
6:00 - 7:00 pm  ages 9 - 11 yrs
7:15 - 8:15 pm  ages 12 yrs and up

Pre-Registration is Mandatory for these classes.         To register please e-mail or phone in  all of the following information:

•  Parent's Name
•  Child's Name and Birthdate
•  Address and Phone #
•  Date and Class your child will be attending
•  Information on the Child's Dance Experience 

example: beginner/community centre experience/examinations taken (if applicable)

Once your child is registered, you will be contacted to    confirm her/his space and for details concerning suitable class attire etc.

Mini-Summer Session 2010: 

Monday, August 30th - Friday, September 3rd 

These classes will offer comprehensive open classical ballet technique.  Students should either attend a free try-out class or arrange a complimentary private assessment*  for correct placing.  Ages listed below are only a guide and those interested in follow-up  fall classes will be placed in an AIDA division (Ballet Foundation - Seniors)  that corresponds with their ability and commitment.

11:30 am - 1:00 pm  Ballet Master Classes (for serious students with a strong intermediate to advanced level of technique.)*

4:00 pm - 4:45 pm  Ages 7+8 yrs
4:45 pm - 6:00 pm  Ages 9 - 11 yrs
6:00 pm - 7:30 pm  Beginner Teens
7:30 pm - 9:00 pm  Ages 12 yrs and up

Pre- Registration is required for these classes.  Please phone the Academy of International Dance Arts for fees and details.

Scholarship Auditions:

Candidates interested in auditioning for a quarter term scholarship must:

• have a strong intermediate to advanced level technique
• phone to arrange a private assessment to determine eligibility prior to August 30th
• must be enrolled in the mini-summer school Master Class session
• must meet criteria for committing to the 2010 -2011
